Chair at TUM

It is now impossible to imagine business without the Internet. The Internet-based Information Systems (IBIS) chair set up by Roland Berger und O2 conducts research into online business and software systems and their impact on the productivity, profitability, and security of web-based organizations. The chair is held by Prof. Martin Bichler.

Prof. Bichler has taught and conducted research at the Universities of Vienna and Berkeley. From 2001 to 2003 he was research staff member in the Deep E-Commerce team from the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, New York. He has conducted and published research in the areas of supply chain management, electronic markets, distributed systems, and operations research and is on the editorial board of the Electronic Commerce Research Journal. He has designed and developed several software packages.
