Marshall plan for Wallonia

Our Belgian colleagues did a challenging pro bono project for the sector organization "Union Wallone des Entreprises" related to the development of the Walloon transportation industry. Within the framework of the Marshall plan for Wallonia we assisted the organization in setting-up their logistics & transportation strategy as requested by the Marshall plan selection board. More specifically, in order to define their strategic direction, we investigated and provided more information on:

• Overall strategy and objectives
• Positioning towards other european regions in competition
• Synergies with other industries selected within the Walloon Marshall plan

One of the main conclusions of this mission was the need to set up a dedicated support organization for the Walloon T&L sector, which we recommended to focus on three axes:

• Support innovation, R&D and knowledge transfer (by organizing workshops, distributing and ordering studies, …)
• Assure external promotion and attract investors
• Organize regional network events
