For the fifth time, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants invites students to attend the three-day consulting workshop "topics". Fifty carefully selected candidates will tackle an issue that is high on every CEO's agenda: Growth strategies. They will work on a consulting case study in teams, supported by experienced consultants and top managers from the Italian carmaker Fiat. topics2004 will take place on the shores of Lake Maggiore, Italy, from July 16-18. Students of all disciplines can apply by May 14 on www.topics.rolandberger.com  .

The event involves teamwork, presentations and networking – in short, all aspects of the day-to-day work of an international strategy consultant. On day one, the participants attend seminars together with consultants to prepare them for the consulting project. On day two, the teams get down to business once they receive the details of their task. Working to a tight deadline, they develop their own proposed solutions and present them to the client, competing against the other teams.

Fun, sports and networking are also part of the workshop.

"topics offers ambitious students a great opportunity to experience strategy consulting at an international level," says Thomas Eichelmann from the Executive Committee of Roland Berger. "Students with an inquiring mind, who can think fast and accurately and want to start a challenging career, will definitely find that strategy consulting is right for them. The topics event shows participants how consulting works."

In recent years, topics has been held in Amsterdam, Lisbon, Stockholm and Lucerne. The subjects dealt with included synergies, CRM, m-commerce and e-commerce.
