  • For students of all disciplines from Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Thinking outside the box – this is the theme of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants' first consulting workshop start2005 for students from their 4th semester onward. Those who want to learn something new and tackle challenging tasks can find out about a career in strategy consulting in three days from various perspectives: first in discussion with academics, clients and experienced consultants. Participants will experience more about the origins and future of strategy consulting. About clients' expectations and goals. Then they will slip into the role of a consultant and present their proposed solutions to a real-life consulting case to a client of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. For thirty hand-picked candidates from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, this is a golden opportunity to discover the world of international strategy consulting. start2005 takes place in Cologne from January 16 to 18. If you are in your fourth to seventh semester of any discipline, and already have a business-related internship under your belt, apply online by December 13 on www.start.rolandberger.com  .

Participants interested in a career in strategy consulting can apply to become an intern at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants following the workshop.

"Our start2005 workshop aims to get top students interested in doing an internship at Roland Berger. Over 50 percent of our interns use their time with us as a springboard to a consulting career in our firm," says Thomas Eichelmann from the Executive Committee of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. "Students can get to know the world of strategy consulting at first hand before they graduate. And the event is a great opportunity for us to present Roland Berger as a top employer."

Participants can expect three days packed with information, networking opportunities, teamwork and of course fun! On day one, there will be talks on strategy consulting and discussions with clients and consultants, and the consulting case will be presented. The hard work begins on day two: teams of students, supported by Roland Berger consultants, will develop their own proposed solutions and present them in a competitive pitch. On the third and final day, sporting and cultural activities will round off the start2005 event.
