The "start2007" recruiting workshop offers students and postgraduates insight into the tasks of an international strategy consultancy. In small groups, participants from Germany, Austria and Switzerland develop solutions for an actual client project in the consumer goods industry. The event is designed for students in their fourth semester or higher, and (post) graduates. The workshop will take place in Munich from January 12 to 14, 2007. Students interested in this event should apply by December 10, 2006 at www.start.rolandberger.com.

The "start2007" recruiting workshop offers students and postgraduates insight into the tasks of an international strategy consultancy. A leading international consumer goods group is planning to strengthen its presence in Europe. Supported by consultants, the participants will develop a strategy designed to gain market share for the company. The client will be at the recruiting workshop to assist the participants. Participants will subsequently present their results in a mock management board meeting so that they can convince the client of their respective strategies.

This "live" project work enables participants to get a close look at the methods used in strategy consulting and find out if consulting is for them. "We want to show students the actual challenges we deal with at Roland Berger. For example, they learn how to present their results to the client. It's not only important for junior consultants to demonstrate excellent analytical skills, they need to have outstanding personalities and be good communicators," says Thomas Eichelmann, Member of the Executive Committee.

During the recruiting workshop, participants will visit Roland Berger's headquarters in Munich and see behind the scenes of strategy consulting. Afterwards, a fun recreational program will be held at Tegernsee. This also provides the perfect opportunity to network with Roland Berger's people and learn more about specific career prospects.

For start2007, Roland Berger is looking for students in their fourth semester or higher, and (post) graduates. These participants should have excellent grades and some practical business experience. Participants who demonstrate outstanding performance at this event are invited to do an internship or join the company's recruiting process for consultants. They need not formally apply again. In 2007, Roland Berger plans to hire 150 new consultants and 120 interns.
