In strategy consulting, all signs point to further growth. Career opportunities have rarely been better for engineers with an interest in business issues. In 2007 alone, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants is looking for up to 50 engineering graduates in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The international strategy consultancy is organizing its third recruiting workshop purely for engineers. If you want to find out about consultants' project work at first hand and think you have what it takes to resolve complex entrepreneurial issues, then start.ing2007 is for you. Small groups of selected participants will tackle a real-life consulting assignment for a client in the automotive industry. Applicants must be either students from their fourth semester onwards, graduates, Ph.D. students or young professionals with up to two years' work experience, and come from a German-speaking region.
The event will take place in Munich from June 29 to July 1, 2007. Those interested should apply by May 29, 2007 at www.starting.rolandberger.com.
In start.ing2007, participants will work on a real-life consulting assignment from the automotive industry, thus gaining insight into the work of a strategy consultancy. They will design their strategic solutions in small teams supported by experienced consultants. The results will then be presented at a board meeting where participants will aim to convince the client to take on board their strategy.
Through real-life project work, the participants can become familiar with strategy consulting methods and find out whether management consulting is the career for them. "We are organizing start.ing2007 because there is a growing need in strategy consulting for highly trained engineers with an understanding of business issues," says Thomas Eichelmann, Member of the Executive Committee of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. "In many industries, companies can only determine their strategic route if they have in-depth technical knowledge and use it to optimum effect. Many doors are thus open to engineers at Roland Berger."
During the recruiting workshop, participants have the opportunity to spend time at the headquarters of Roland Berger in Munich and take a look behind the scenes of a strategy consultancy. The variety of leisure activities organized gives participants the chance to speak to Roland Berger employees and gather information about their personal career prospects.
Roland Berger is looking for engineering students from their fourth semester onwards, plus graduates, Ph.D. students and professionals from Germany, Austria and Switzerland to take part in start.ing2007. We expect applicants to have excellent grades and practical work experience, ideally in a business context. Participants who show a strong performance at start.ing2007 have good prospects of a career at the international strategy consultancy.
