Roland Berger Strategy Consultants will be holding its third recruiting workshop for scientists. This year, the focus is on change in the healthcare industry. In the course of this workshop, participants get a closer look at consulting work. Their task is to develop a concept for a health insurance provider. They must map out the challenges for this provider while keeping in mind current developments of the healthcare market. Innovative ideas and practical recommendations should support the client in times of drastic change. Participants can be students, graduates or doctoral candidates as well as professionals. The event will take place in Munich on January 11 and 12, 2008. Those interested should apply by December 2, 2007, at www.startscience.rolandberger.com.

Scientists who are considering a career with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants should bring along a strong interest in business issues. "start.science2008" offers this target group the opportunity to get a firsthand look at the everyday life of a consultant at Roland Berger. According to Dr. Markus Hammer, former "start.science" participant and consultant at Roland Berger, participants who make a good impression at the workshop will have good prospects for a career in international strategy consulting. He says: "What makes "start.science" special is the direct contact to Roland Berger Partners and consultants. They provide interesting insights into the consulting profession and the corporate culture at Roland Berger."

Dirk Reiter, Member of the Executive Committee at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, goes on to explain: "We organize "start.science" because the demand in strategy consulting for highly trained scientists with economic know-how is growing. Many of our clients profit from the knowledge and specialized methodology of scientists. That's why there are many opportunities for students in these disciplines at Roland Berger."

On the first day of the event, representatives from the HR department at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants present the career opportunities in international strategy consulting. This is followed by a discussion with scientists who have already successfully begun a career in consulting. Then participants start work on the project. They analyze company and market data, evaluate the facts and then develop recommendations for action.

On the second day, the teams continue their work on the project. Experienced consultants help them to realign corporate strategies and prepare their presentations. Before lunch, the teams present their ideas. The announcement of the winners and feedback sessions will round off the event.
