Benno van Dongen

Mr. Benno van Dongen is Partner and member of the Management Team of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Amsterdam. He has over 18 years of international experience with public and private technology and research organizations and the management of innovation in knowledge infrastructures. He has set up innovation consortia and supported the foundation of several commercial and academic institutes. Benno seeks to encourage action through innovation, and is committed to entrepreneurial development. In 2002, Benno helped found Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Amsterdam, and took on responsibility for the "Strategy & Organization" and the "Engineered Products and High Tech" Competence Centers.

Benno is the founder of the Institute of Young Entrepreneurs at the Delft University of Technology. Since 1995, this institute has supported hundreds of students through teaching, guiding and coaching during the start-up of their technology intensive businesses.

Benno's work is largely in knowledge infrastructure and technology-intensive industries, with particular interest in linking business strategies – commercialization and growth – and business models. He often seeks business process change through coaching. He has worked for a range of national and regional governments and public service organizations, as well as for several European-based academic institutes.

Benno holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science from Delft University of Technology (1986-1991) and an MBA from INSEAD (1993-1994) in Fontainebleau, France.
