Best practices in LCCS
Low-cost country sourcing(LCCS)is a key item on nearly every executive agenda –many seminars, congresses and speeches have been held, most of them based on individual company experiences.
This study aimed to identify best practices in LCCS across major industriesby conducting in-depth interviews with practitioners in several, primarily blue chip companies.
The key findings define a distinct development path that we called the "LCCS life cycle". The LCCS life cycle consists of five stages and is almost entirely independent of industry and company environment.
Best practices and common mistakes were identified at every stage and discussed. Overall, companies can learn from best practices, avoid the process of trial and error and hence accelerate their LCCS efforts.
