Karl-J. Kraus
Karl-J. Kraus is Senior Advisor and Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. Born in 1953 in the German town of Kirchen/Sieg, he earned his degree in business administration (Dipl.-Betriebswirt) in 1977. During his studies, he specialized in corporate management, strategy and marketing. Afterwards he worked as Marketing Director for a leading group in the metalworking industry.
In 1981, he began his consulting career in the Munich office of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. He was promoted to Principal in 1984 and then to Partner in 1986, finally moving to Berlin in 1990. There, Karl-J. Kraus built up the Roland Berger office and the Restructuring Competence Center, which has since supported countless leading companies and groups in restructuring and turnaround projects.
From 1990 to 2000, Karl-J. Kraus also did work for Germany's Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF), as Member of the Executive Committee of the Federal Agency for Special Tasks associated with Unification. In 1994, Karl-J. Kraus was appointed to the Management Committee of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and served as Committee Chairman from 2000 to 2003. In addition to his position as the Managing Partner for KJK Management und Beteiligungen GmbH, he holds seats on several supervisory boards.
