Alexander Kainer
Since the start of 2010, Alexander Kainer has been a Principal on the management team in the Vienna office. He is working on expanding the power supplier business in Austria and Central and Eastern Europe. In doing so, he is focusing on traditional issues of strategic realignment and reorganization, but also looking ahead to electromobility, renewable energy and smart grids.
Alexander studied industrial engineering at the Vienna University of Technology and started his career with the Arthur D. Little. After a short detour into the New Economy, he returned to management consulting, joining Roland Berger in 2001. The international energy business has been Alexander's area of special concern since the beginning of his career. At that time, he was in England examining acquisition strategies of European power suppliers in the context of liberalization. In the years following that, he specialized in strategy development, reorganization and restructuring. Along with providers and waste management companies, his clients include mechanical engineering and industrial plant engineering companies.
