Marc Grüter

Marc joined our Zurich Team as Principal in 2011 to expand our activities and skills in financial services and risk management. Prior to joining Roland Berger, he worked as Head of Risk Management at a big4 company. His industry expertise includes retail and private banking, asset management, insurance and government. He has a profound experience in the development of business and operating models, strategic risk management, the design and transformation of risk management frameworks, bankig regulatory (Basel III) and integrated bank management.

Marc started his career in 1999 at the controlling and planning department of a large international Swiss Bank (retail and wealth management division). After 3 years he became a research assistant and PhD student at the chair for bank management and controlling at the University of Basel (Prof. Schierenbeck). During this time he was further a lecturer for management accounting, financial accounting and risk management at the University of Basel and various management academies. After he had successfully finished his PhD thesis in financial services risk management, he joined a leading management consulting firm for banks, where he gained broad consulting experience in bank strategy, value based management, risk management and banking regulation (Basel II).
