António Bernardo

António Bernardo is Deputy Chief Executive Office of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and Managing Director of the firm`s offices in Portugal, Spain and Italy, and Chairman of South America.

António Bernardo (born in 1959), Portuguese, studied civil engineering at Lisbon Polytechnic, and business administration at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) and at Stanford University. After launching his professional career at the European Union, followed by a stint at JP Morgan Investment Bank, he joined Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in 1989. Mr. Bernardo is Managing Director of our offices in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Chairman of South America. Since July 2003, he has been Deputy Spokesman of the firm's Executive Committee (EC). As part of the EC's expansion in September 2004, he became Deputy Chief Executive Officer. His term was extended in December 2006.

Under his leadership, our Spanish and Portuguese offices have enjoyed above-average growth, becoming top players in their markets, and he is starting to do the same in Italy. António Bernardo also played a significant role in expanding Roland Berger's international management structures. His consulting work focuses on corporate strategy and organization, and on mergers and acquisitions.
