Bulgaria 2017 - a look into the future

For this study 160 CEOs in seven CEE countries were interviewed regarding the changes and challenges for there countries in the next 10 years. This study describes the future development in Bulgaria.

The next ten years will be a decisive structural challenge for Bulgarian companies. Bulgaria’s economic situation is expected to develop faster than in the rest of the EU in the next ten years. And they favor offensive strategy and internationalization more than CEE average. Furthermore foreign companies started to "conquer" South Eastern Europe (SEE) already.

For the Bulgarian economy this will mean that businesses and the state need to work together closely and be fast.

Businesses need to implement basic business mechanisms first – secondly: gain critical size. The state has to lower it's engagement, focus on education, infrastructure and its own efficiency.
