stepFORWARD

stepFORWARD
stepFORWARD is our program aimed at attracting highly-qualified women into the dynamic world of consulting. A one-day "women only" workshop on January 20, 2006 outlines the exciting challenges of working for one of the world's leading consultancies.

Roland Berger Strategy Consultants is launching a new events series geared toward attracting more women into the challenging and stimulating field of consulting with a one-day workshop in Berlin. 30 selected highly-qualified applicants will be chosen to attend the event on January 20, 2006 to gain an in-depth insight on the life of a consultant and learn how best to market themselves as they embark on their career path. The workshop is not solely geared at business students – women with a wide-variety of academic disciplines will be invited to attend. Students in their final semesters are encouraged to apply, as are recent garduates, PhD candidates and young professionals

In Berlin, the working methods of a leading strategy consultancy will be illustrated as part of a discussion based on one of the most recent Roland Berger Studies, entitled "Innovation and Growth in the health care sector." Leading experts in the field, such as Roland Berger Partner, Dr. Joachim Kartte, will be on hand to discuss the findings of the study, including the strong growth potential of the health care sector and the new business opportunities and challenges that arise from these findings. Invitees will gain a better understanding of how this theoretical approach informs the everyday work of a consultant and vice versa in presentations by Kristine Quadflied, Senior Consultant in the Restructuring & Corporate Finance Competence Center and Oliver Rong, Senior Project Manager in the company's Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Competence Center. They will outline the approach to a recent reorganization project of a large university clinic and offer practical insights from their experience "on the job".
Attendants will also benefit from the coaching-expertise of Dr. Sabine Demkowski, who will provide helpful tips on self-marketing. Her presentation will stress the importance of self-marketing in the consulting profession and show effective ways toward building a personal 'brand'.

This workshop is part of an ongoing commitment to enhancing the Roland Berger team with outstanding female expertise. In 2002, the company launched its FORWARD initiative (For Women – Attracting, Retaining, Developing) and offers a number of mentoring programs and other benefits throughout their career with the company.

Applications for the workshop in Berlin can be submitted online through the stepFORWARD website by the 31 December. For additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact
