Welcome, bachelors!

We offer attractive prospects for graduates with bachelor’s degrees. By participating in our Consulting Analyst program they can qualify early to join the firm.

In 1999, 29 European countries signed the Bologna Declaration, in which they stated their intention to create a single European area in higher education by 2010. In all these countries, bachelor’s and master’s degrees will be introduced.

University education should become more flexible, diverse and international, but also enable cross-border comparability. The degrees will be modular and tailored more to the needs of business and future employers. In six years at most, bachelor’s and master’s degrees will have replaced the traditional German degrees.

Most companies in Germany are worried by this development and not yet ready to make the required changes. Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, however, has already responded to this. In discussions with Partners, personnel managers from other companies and the target group of future bachelor graduates, we developed the Consulting Analyst program.

“The Consulting Analyst program is based on the fact that over 60 percent of Junior Consultants in Germany are former interns,” explains Human Resources Manager Nikolaus Held. “This program will allow us to acquire and retain talent for Roland Berger at an early stage.”

The program normally takes 9 to 12 months. During this time, the Consulting Analyst will be introduced to the tasks and responsibilities of a Junior Consultant. With on-the-job training and selected off-the-job development, such as attending an induction event, going to selected seminars, gathering feedback in evaluation rounds and being supported in technical and personal issues by a mentor. “After successfully finishing this program, he or she will do a master’s degree and receive a job offer to return as a Junior Consultant and a fast track promotion to Consultant.” says Human Resources Advisor Eva Werth.
