Munich/Hamburg, November 4, 2011
Roland Berger Strategy Consultants is welcoming new talent to its Financial Services Competence Center. New Partner Ulrich Geuss is joining the team, effective January 1, 2012.
Ulrich Geuss (44) will be responsible for all aspects of controlling and accounting in the Financial Services Competence Center. He will advise and support both domestic and leading international banks in their future realignment and in making the necessary adjustments to stricter capital requirements and growing regulatory constraints.
"With more than 20 years experience in the banking industry, Ulrich Geuss represents a major asset to the international Financial Services Competence Center. He combines practical experience with strategic know-how," says Udo Bröskamp, Partner at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and head of the Financial Services Competence Center.
In his banking career, Geuss specialized early in controlling, risk controlling and accounting. He was responsible for these areas at Deutsche Postbank AG from 1999 through 2008. From August 2008, he headed the Finance Division at HSH Nordbank and was instrumental in helping promote the bank's strategic realignment and the necessary capitalization. In his position on the Accounting Interpretations Committee (AIC) of the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany and the Association of German Public Banks (VÖB), he played an active role in designing the new financial reporting standards under HGB and IFRS. He also successfully designed and managed numerous transformation projects on the introduction of SAP and the implementation of IFRS.
"We are delighted to have gained another Partner with a huge amount of practical and professional experience and look forward to a long and fruitful cooperation with Ulrich Geuss," says Udo Bröskamp.
