A new recruiting workshop by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants gives university students and PhD candidates the chance to experience world class consulting close up. In a hands-on case from the healthcare sector, participants will develop a plan toward reorganizing the value chain of an international giant in the industry to give it the competitive advantage it needs in the global market place. Candidates will have to present their findings to the board of the company in a real-life simulation exercise, as would be the case on a regular consultant project.
"It is crucial to the success of our projects that our consultants are able to build trust-based relationships with clients. That is why we are looking for new consultants with strong personalities that are sensitive enough to listen closely to client needs and respond to them adequately. The collaborative spirit in our firm, amongst people with different talents and character traits is what creates the most creative solutions to our clients' problems," says Dirk Reiter, member of Roland Berger's Executive Committee.

Aside from working on the project, participants will be given ample time to explore Munich and enjoy the after-work program at the Tegernsee together with current consultants.
University students who have completed their fourth semester of studies, as well as PhD candidates from Germany, Switzerland and Austria can apply for the two-day workshop, to take place on 18-20 January 2008 in Munich at Roland Berger's headquarters. Ideal candidates should have a background in economics or a related area, strong academic credentials and first practical experience in a business context through internships or periods of work-study. Participants with an analytical eye, team-working abilities and personality will be able to explore consulting further through an internship or a formal recruiting workshop.
