CNN and Roland Berger host "Debate Club" in Berlin on October 13.
Open debates enjoy a kind of cult status in England and the US: two teams ply their rhetoric skills to convince the audience of their position. The first "Debate Club" will premiere on Monday, October 13 at the "Rodeo Club", a Berlin hot spot. There the audience will have a chance to see teams battle it out over the issue: "Yes we can – does the country need hope or action?" and decide the winner.
The "Debate Club" is the brainchild of two university students in Berlin, Simone Donnecker and Uta Weisse. Our company and CNN are sponsoring the event: "The ability to engage in sophisticated debate is just one of the critical qualifications future consultants must have, but it is especially a key skill to have in a democracy," says Torsten Oltmanns from Global Marketing. Both companies have supported the organization of the event and signed up members for the first "Debate Club" teams. The debaters will be:
