A new dawn for women

Despite progress made in the past century, a long road to gender equality remains. Globally, women earn 34 percent less than men, hold only 22 percent of managerial positions and run less than 20 percent of the world's companies. Gender equality would increase global GDP by USD 12,000 billion by 2025 – a growth of 11 percent.

In September 2017, the first international economic forum dedicated to women in Africa will be held in Marrakesh, Morocco. The desire to hold the first Women in Africa Club Annual Summit is rooted in these realities. The challenges to be met for and by women are diverse and affect all aspects of modern and traditional society.

These figures demand attention and serve as an urgent call to action. Standing idly by when faced with these realities is not an option. Not only is it unjust, it does not make economic sense.
