Bill Kemp is a partner in Roland Berger's Chicago office. For more than 25 years, he has delivered solutions to energy and infrastructure industry clients around the world on critical strategy, operations, and regulatory and technology issues. He has directed over 400 consulting projects in the areas of strategic planning, strategy implementation, sustainability, regulatory strategy, M&A, technology and market economics, competitive positioning, cost optimization, energy sector development, and litigation support. His new market focus is around helping clients from the energy sector and others with long-term decarbonization strategies and near-term technical and policy action plans.

Bill's prior experience includes serving as a managing partner for two organizations: first, in North America for an energy and resources industry firm and later, in the Asia-Pacific-Africa region with one of the largest global management consultancies. He has also led strategic consulting services for a major U.S. energy and water management consultancy, served as president of a successful energy technology start-up in Florida, and held tenure as an environmental economist in the U.S. White House staff.

Bill holds a Master’s degree in public policy degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. in anthropology and physics from Harvard University. He is a former officer of the International Association for Energy Economics and contributes frequently as a writer and speaker to industry groups such as the International Gas Union, the Edison Electric Institute, the American Gas Association, the Western Energy Institute, the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies, and others.
