Dr. Christian Fischer has been a Member of the global Restructuring & Corporate Finance Competence Center at Roland Berger since its inception in January 2014, responsible for the Practice Group Corporate Performance & Transformation. Since July 2015, he has been a Member of the Supervisory Board and is responsible for its Audit Committee. Christian is also Co-Head of Roland Berger’s office in Stuttgart.
After beginning his career at Bosch, he joined the Roland Berger Restructuring Team in 1999 and became a Partner in 2003. In 2004, Christian joined the board of Walter Bau-AG/DYWIDAG, an internationally operating, stock-listed construction group as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In 2006, Christian was elected to the board of SMARTRAC, an international, stock-listed high-tech company based in the Netherlands, which he built up and made public, subsequently becoming its CEO and Chairman of the Board till the end of 2012. He studied Business Economics and Business Administration at the University of Hohenheim in Germany and holds a PhD in Financial Economics.
