Isao Endo (born in Japan in 1956) is Chairman of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Japan. From 2006 to 2011, he was a member of the Supervisory Board.
After graduating from the School of Commerce at Waseda University, he started his professional career with Mitsubishi Electric in the Factory Automation Division. Later he gained hands-on experience with several consulting companies. Before joining Roland Berger in 2000, Isao Endo worked as Vice President and Director for an American strategy consulting firm in Tokyo. At Roland Berger Strategy Consultants Isao Endo successfully reorganized the Tokyo office, starting with only five consultants. Today the office is a major player in the Japanese market.
Isao Endo holds an MBA from Boston College's Carroll School of Management, where he specialized in Marketing. Since 2004 he has taught as a Professor of Corporate Strategy at Waseda Business School in Tokyo. He also teaches at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in China and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore as Visiting Professor.
With rich experience in business strategy development for the manufacturing industry and service industry, and also in marketing strategy and business and operational restructuring, he provides a wide range of support for Japanese companies trying to establish global competitiveness.
Among Isao Endo's key projects were a channel restructuring strategy in Japan for a leading car manufacturer, setting up a sales and channel strategy for engineering products at a leading Japanese high-tech parts supplier and designing a global strategy for a leading truck manufacturer.
Isao Endo is a well-known author and has written several very popular books, such as "Cultivating Gemba Power" and "Visualization".
Isao Endo is married, has two children and lives in Yokohama.
