Akio Ito joined Roland Berger in 2016 and is a Partner in the firm’s Munich office. Akio started his consulting career in 1996, focusing on the industrial goods industry. After being promoted to Manager, he joined ThyssenKrupp AG in 2003 as a Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Organization. In 2007, Akio became a Member of the Executive Board of Corporate Development at Thyssen Umformtechnik GmbH and Chief Restructuring Officer for ThyssenKrupp Sofedit SAS.
In 2009, Akio joined Hellenic Shipyards SA as President of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer. In 2011, he rejoined ThyssenKrupp AG as a Head of Corporate Programs and, at the beginning of 2014, he became Director of the German Management Team of AlixPartners, where he focused on Enterprise Improvement and coordinated the accounts for ABB, ThyssenKrupp and Siemens.
Akio graduated from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany as an Industrial Engineer.
