Philip Dunne joined Roland Berger in 2020 as a UK Managing Partner. He brings with him more than 25 years of industry and consulting experience, focused on the Automotive, Aerospace and General Industrial sectors. He splits his time equally between Private Equity and Corporate clients, leading large-scale cost transformation and performance improvement programs, often in a transaction environment. Philip combines strong strategic skills with a pragmatic operations outlook. He also has a deep understanding of the people-related issues of culture and change, which are of particular value in a transaction or merger environment.

An engineer by training, Phil began his career in 1983 as a graduate engineer designing ground-to-air missiles. He then spent five years in design and manufacturing roles in the French operations of a major automotive company. This was followed by a brief and unsuccessful career as a professional rugby player, prior to returning to business to lead a successful career at international financial companies. In the course of his career, he has held positions as Managing Partner, head of the Private Equity Practice, and leading a Strategy team, as well as being a member of a leadership team for a major Transaction Advisory Services division.

Philip earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Birmingham University and an MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
