Why Roland Berger?

For me, Roland Berger strikes a great balance between size and global footprint. Our company's size and organization means that you are able to build deep relationships with your colleagues from your local office and your global platform – never feeling like you're only a small cog in the wheel. At the same time, our global presence and our industry and functional coverage allows you to experience all the aspects of the strategy consulting business with its endless opportunities.

Can you tell us about your favorite project?

It's hard to pick a favorite one as the projects I have been staffed on were all quite different. If you press me, I would mention my assignment for a leading Russian grocery retailer in Moscow. I had the opportunity to spend more than a year working at the client's site in Moscow, with an international team of colleagues, and to develop a freshness strategy for the retailer's vast network of stores. Not only did I get the chance to experience Russian culture first hand and to deepen my big data analytics skills, I will also never forget my morning runs across Red Square.

And what about work-life balance?

Consulting is a demanding job. The free time I have during the week and, in particular, over the weekends I try to spend with my family. Any additional spare time is used for my long-distance running and my first love, any sport where you have a board on your feet. Sport, and in particular, skateboarding, flushes all the stress hormones out of my body and just recharges me.
