Turkey's prospects and its relevance for Austrian companies

2008

Austria's economy profits considerably from the growth in Eastern Europe. However, this will flag considerably in the foreseeable future. Next to Russia, Austrian companies are shifting their focus increasingly on Turkey – a major market with a strategically favorable position. Financial services, energy, construction and building and automotive suppliers as well as engineered products are of particular interest.

Turkey is more than just a risk diversification alternative to Russia. It has two key strategic advantages: First, it has a market of 75 million people and will experience above-average economic growth of more than 5 percent annually over the next few years. Second, it qualifies as a "hub" for the Middle East, Africa and even Southern Russia.

The study "Turkey's prospect" investigates the opportunities for Austrian companies in the promising market found in Turkey.
