Future of european consumer finance

Top executives of the consumer finance industry in Europe expect their industry to grow in the coming years but foresee shrinking financial margins. They also see online banks and internet players as a major challenge to their business models, while anticipating market consolidation in the near future. These are some of the conclusions reached by consultancy Eurofinas and Roland Berger, the voice of consumer credit providers at European level, in their first joint survey on the “Future of European Consumer Finance”.

Executives from 118 companies in 21 European countries, spanning various business models from bank subsidiaries to niche players, were surveyed on the market outlook, the threats and opportunities they face, and their views on likely key success factors.
