POLARIXPARTNER Project Manager– Cost Engineering

Job Description
  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Own full profit and loss responsibility for assigned consulting engagements.
  • Lead project teams independently, motivating them to meet ambitious goals within tight timelines.
  • Deliver high-quality client presentations using PowerPoint and similar tools with clarity and impact.
  • Apply standard project management tools and frameworks within structured PMO environments.
  • Assess and optimize product and process costs across the entire product development lifecycle.
  • Interpret product development plans and requirements to identify and realize cost improvement opportunities.
  • Lead integrated, cross-functional teams by applying your engineering and design experience.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to support cost negotiations and sourcing strategies.
  • Analyze and implement engineering optimizations with a focus on technical integration and cost impact.
  • Apply advanced cost optimization methodologies such as VAVE, GAP analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Understand standard manufacturing processes and their cost implications for mechanical and electronic components.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with a relevant focus; an MBA is preferred.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in consulting or industry, ideally in product development, production, or procurement.
  • Strong technical expertise and the ability to evaluate engineering and cost trade-offs with confidence.
  • Experience leading teams and solving complex challenges in fast-paced environments.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical and solution-driven thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English, and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High willingness to travel and work on-site with clients across national and international settings.
  • Familiarity with industries such as automotive, off-highway, industrial goods, aerospace, or electronics is a strong plus.

The estimated base salary for this role is $140,000-$150,000. This estimate reflects the best estimate at the time of this posting, and does not guarantee any specific salary for this position. It is important to note that at Roland Berger, individual salaries are determined on a case-by-case basis based on experience, education, office location, start date and organizational needs. Roland Berger will review your performance at least annually and may adjust your salary in its sole discretion 

This role is eligible for additional compensation, and is eligible for an annual bonus.
