POLARIXPARTNER Senior Consultant – Cost Engineering

- Support and lead client projects on-site in national and international settings, from strategic concept development through to implementation.
- Assess and optimize product and process costs across the full product development lifecycle.
- Interpret and contribute to product development plans and translate technical requirements into cost engineering strategies.
- Leverage your engineering and design experience to work effectively with integrated, cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with procurement functions and support cost-based negotiation strategies.
- Analyze and optimize product engineering solutions, with a focus on their integration and interdependencies.
- Apply cost engineering tools and methods to identify and implement cost improvement opportunities.
- Utilize knowledge of manufacturing processes to understand cost implications for components and systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (with technical focus); an MBA is a plus.
- 4–7 years of experience in consulting or industry, ideally in development, production, or procurement roles.
- Strong technical foundation and expert-level knowledge in product engineering and cost management.
- Industry experience in automotive, off-highway, industrial goods, aerospace, or electronics is highly valued.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think analytically, creatively, and strategically.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including fluency in English.
- High degree of mobility and willingness to travel frequently.
- Passion for working on cost optimization projects and delivering measurable results.

The estimated base salary for this role is $120,000-$130,000. This estimate reflects the best estimate at the time of this posting, and does not guarantee any specific salary for this position. It is important to note that at Roland Berger, individual salaries are determined on a case-by-case basis based on experience, education, office location, start date and organizational needs. Roland Berger will review your performance at least annually and may adjust your salary in its sole discretion
This role is eligible for additional compensation, and is eligible for an annual bonus.
