In our end-of-year think:act mini, we would like to look back on 2009 and take a careful view on 2010 knowing that forecasts are no longer valid in our time.
The crisis was first and foremost a shock to the entire world economy. It destroyed, or at least severely threatened, considerable wealth that had been built up over the years.
However, the crisis also led to a paradigm shift among many people and raised questions about necessary changes. In his essay, Burkhard Schwenker says that if Europe can harness its strengths and focus on key areas of actions, greater sustainability can be achieved especially as recovery begins.
