What you will be doing

You will mainly work on a variety of projects at the intersection of innovation and public-private partnerships. You will gain exposure to sectors such as life sciences, biopharma, and high-tech, and collaborate with clients ranging from private companies to universities and research institutions.

Together with Koen Besteman (partner) and Benno van Dongen (senior partner) and (senior) colleagues, you will help drive innovation management, growth strategies and business model development. At Roland Berger we differentiate ourselves by listening carefully to our clients and working intensively with them on tailor-made solutions. In doing so, you will get the opportunity to engage with societal and cultural challenges around technology and innovation while helping to bridge the gap between science and society.

As a Senior Consultant at Roland Berger you will:

  • Take the lead for modules in larger projects, and complete project management of smaller projects (typically leading three to five consultants), with most projects centered around innovation and public-private partnerships. 
  • Coach and develop the consultants in your project teams. 
  • Have direct client contact and lead presentations during client meetings. 
  • Work closely with industry experts at Roland Berger. 
  • Contribute to Roland Berger’s knowledge development by capturing insights and drawing lessons from client work. 
  • Participate in office-wide projects (e.g. in-depth studies on current topics) that further develop Roland Berger or its thinking in a specific area or sector.

Do you recognize yourself in the following qualifications, competencies and skills?

  • You have completed an academic university education (i.e. WO). 
  • You have between four and seven years of experience in strategy consulting with a distinct focus on innovation and/or in a strategic or operational role within the life sciences, biopharma, high tech, public-private industry or working on innovation ecosystems.
  • Prior experience in strategic and project-based work is required.
  • Having prior involvement with mobilizing funds is highly advantageous.
  • Having a technical (academic) background and knowledge is highly advantageous.
  • You have experience managing others and delegating work to more junior team members.  
  • You are familiar with/experienced in (financial) modeling (Microsoft Excel), visualizing presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint) and storytelling. 
  • You can think analytically and structure arguments clearly.
  • You work with precision. 
  • You are open-minded. 
  • You have good oral, written and presentation skills and an excellent command of English and Dutch.
