What you will be doing
You will collaborate closely with senior colleagues and partners specializing in energy and contribute to high-impact projects that help shape the future energy landscape. With a strong sustainability angle, our projects bridge the gap between public and private interests in the energy transition.
Covering the full energy value chain from renewable project development (offshore wind, hydrogen, solar, biogas) to guidance on energy retail strategies, regulatory frameworks, and grid development, we drive solutions at every stage.
Our team brings deep sector knowledge and a pragmatic approach to help clients navigate complex challenges and seize opportunities in a rapidly evolving energy system. As a Senior Consultant / Project Manager at Roland Berger you will:
- Take the lead for modules in larger projects, and complete project management of smaller projects (typically leading three to five consultants), with a specific focus on energy.
- Coach and develop the consultants in your project teams.
- Have direct client contact and lead presentations during client meetings.
- Work closely with industry experts at Roland Berger.
- Contribute to Roland Berger’s knowledge development by capturing insights and drawing lessons from client work.
- Participate in office-wide projects (e.g. in-depth studies on current topics) that further develop Roland Berger or its thinking in a specific area or sector.

Do you recognize yourself in the following qualifications, competencies and skills?
- You have completed an academic university education (i.e. WO).
- You have between four and eight years of experience in strategy and/or management consulting or in strategic and/or operational roles at a large company or in the public sector. Having prior involvement in energy is a requirement.
- You aspire to enhance your expertise in energy, driven by a strong desire to make a meaningful difference and create impactful change.
- You have technical affinity and commercial insight.
- You can think analytically and structure arguments clearly.
- You work with precision.
- You are open-minded.
- You have experience managing others and delegating work to more junior team members.
- You are familiar with/experienced in (financial) modeling (Excel), visualizing presentations (PowerPoint) and storytelling.
- You have good oral, written and presentation skills and an excellent command of the English language.
