Working at a startup
Hi! This is Ruth again from the Roland Berger Gap Year program!
Right now I am writing from felyx, an innovative scale-up with ambitious plans for sustainable and shared urban transport. Felyx offers shared electric scooters in multiple cities in the Benelux. Customers can use an app to reserve, start and park the green, fun, and fast e-scooters!
Compared to my time at the Roland Berger office in Amsterdam, many things are different! As felyx is a scale-up, it is growing quickly. In a short two months' time, I've already gained several new colleagues! One of the advantages of a company that is growing so fast is the many opportunities that come with it. I am constantly working on different projects, learning new things, and meeting with different people from several teams. It's amazing to see how much can change at a scale-up in only a few months, and I am very glad that I could witness the dynamic working environment at felyx.
As a project management intern at felyx, I have been working on the optimization of several processes and the proposition of new projects. This involves meeting with different teams from the organization, performing data analyses and presenting my findings. What I liked most is that I could apply everything I learned at Roland Berger here.
Besides working hard, there is always time for fun activities after and during work. As the cherry on top of my time at felyx, I went on a 3-day ski trip with my colleagues to Austria. We had a great time both on and off the slopes!
Once again, I cannot believe I only have a few more weeks left at felyx, time really does fly by. Even though I am sad my time at this ever-evolving business is almost over, I am very curious and excited to start in Dubai next!
