Jan Peter Claes is an expert in operational restructuring, transformation, and value creation, with many years of international experience.
He has been part of Roland Berger’s Restructuring and Performance Turnaround practice since 2011, with an interim move to a leading global consulting firm. There, among other responsibilities, he spent three years in the Middle East building up the Value Creation and Performance Improvement practice. Since October 2026, Jan Peter Claes has returned to Roland Berger, where he strengthens the Restructuring, Performance & Transformation platform as a Partner in the Hamburg office.
His primary areas of expertise are the manufacturing and automotive industries. He has led large-scale restructuring and transformation programs for publicly listed corporations, with a clear focus on translating strategic objectives into measurable operational and financial results. He also has two years of experience in a CRO-like mandate.
His core competencies include Performance Improvement, Workforce Optimization, Target Operating Models, and the Implementation Management of complex transformation programs.
Jan Peter holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Münster. He also gained academic experience in Bayreuth and at Stellenbosch University in South Africa.
