Exzellenz made in Hesse

2008

As part of the Roland Berger project "Excellence made in Hesse", managers at six top companies in Hesse, one of Germany's 16 federal states, were interviewed about their corporate success factors. Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Lufthansa, Fraport, Isabellenhütte Heusler, manroland and Merck: six top companies, six industries and six success strategies – and they are typical for the entire Hessian economy with its many unsung heroes. Their recipe for success is a strict focus on three areas of excellence (vis-à-vis their customer, in carrying out operating processes and in managing the company). It's also important for these companies to closely dovetail R&D with top-notch production. "Made in Germany" remains a trademark. But the overriding goal for all successful companies is to grow profitably – the surveyed companies are global market leaders in many areas.

The book "Excellence made in Hesse – Excellence vision 2025, examples of corporate success and initiatives", published by the Association of Hessian Companies (Vereinigung der hessischen Unternehmerverbände), analyzes the current situation and takes at look a Hesse's potential future in 2025.
