"We're looking for people with character – team players who can come up with excellent ideas and contribute some entrepreneurial zest," explains Dr. Martin C. Wittig, CEO of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. "The idea of 'The Pitch 2010' is to give students, graduates and post-grads from any discipline a chance to demonstrate their creativity and get to know how consulting works in practice."

Turning business ideas into reality

How does an innovation become a business model? What happens when 25 visionaries come together for three days in one place and struggle to achieve one aim – turning business ideas into reality? This will be the challenge facing the students selected for "The Pitch 2010". Working in small teams, they first have to bid for patents and then, with the support of experienced consultants, develop creative business models for exploiting the inventions. Finally, the teams have to present their strategies to a panel of investors, who will all be established figures from the business world. To complete their projects, the participants can learn about the methods used by strategy consultants at Roland Berger and find out whether a career in consultancy might be the right move for them.

Accompanying the workshop will be a varied program of activities, with opportunities to explore Dresden and network with the experts from Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.
