Roland Berger and Microsoft honor digital industrial solutions transforming modern operations
As industrial companies accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence, digital solutions are increasingly transforming operations on the factory floor. Against this backdrop, Microsoft Germany and Roland Berger have presented the Microsoft Intelligent Manufacturing Award (MIMA) to pioneering solutions in the manufacturing industry for the seventh time. Industrial companies from across the EMEA region were invited to submit digital solutions. After an initial selection round, 15 finalists from 9 countries qualified to present their projects to a high-profile jury. With the addition of a new category for SME companies, nearly all seven of the award-winning projects focused on artificial intelligence. According to the jury, these solutions demonstrate exceptional innovative strength and the potential to advance digital transformation in their respective industries.
"The 2026 winning solutions truly embody this year’s motto ‘Transforming Operations for the Intelligence Era.’ Success is not about the technology itself, but about measurable impact: faster decisions, more resilient processes, and clear productivity gains."
Jochen Gleisberg, Senior Partner at Roland Berger and member of the expert jury, congratulated the winners: “Artificial intelligence has moved beyond pilots and is now delivering real value on the factory floor. The MIMA 2026 winners show how industrial companies are using AI to fundamentally rethink their operations.”
“Artificial intelligence is the key driver of industrial transformation and will determine how competitive the industry will be tomorrow,” said Gabriele Eder, General Manager of Manufacturing at Microsoft Germany. “With the Microsoft Intelligent Manufacturing Award 2026, we are highlighting solutions that are not only technologically leading but are already delivering measurable value today. The award-winning companies demonstrate how AI helps advance efficiency, transparency, resilience, and sustainability simultaneously – thereby enabling fast, robust business results.”
Awards were presented in the categories Innovate!, Scale!, Add Value!, Disrupt!, Sustainability!, and SME!, as well as the overall winner of MIMA 2026.
