The economic situation of most German hospitals has continued to deteriorate. Over half of hospitals reported losses in 2022. The respondents only expect relief effects from increased digitalization from 2028 onwards. The number of hospitals is expected to fall by a third over the next ten years. Strategic positioning will be crucial to the success of the clinics.
