Business school competition

Munich, March 21, 2005

The world's top business schools will gather for the tenth time to compete against one another in Barcelona: selected student teams will develop solutions for a real consulting case and present them to a jury. The anniversary event of what is likely the world's best known case competition will be held April 7-9 at the IESE Business School. Participants will include teams from Bocconi, Columbia, IESE, Ivey, LBS, MIT, RSM, Wharton and Yale

The competition, which has been held each year since 1996, sets the stage for MBA students from top-ranking business schools to gauge their analytical and communication skills on a practical business case. At this year's anniversary competition, the teams will develop a growth strategy for an international media enterprise.

The highlight of the competition is the presentation of their results: the teams compete before a jury of experts comprising experienced management consultants from Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.

2005 marks Roland Berger's fifth year as the event's sponsor. Bettina Ramlau, the HR coordinator for the international strategy consultancy, says: "This competition gives the students a feel for how an international strategy consultancy works in real life. In addition, the setting is perfect for networking. The event allows us to meet the best and the brightest from business schools around the world, and to get them talking about Roland Berger as an attractive employer."
