Roland Berger Strategy Consultants organizes symposium on the future of Hesse and Frankfurt as a business location
Frankfurt, January 19, 2005
In Frankfurt's Alte Oper last night, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants held a symposium on economic prospects in Hesse and Frankfurt. The event marked the international strategy consultancy's move to new premises next to the opera in Frankfurt.
After a reception for some 80 guests, Roland Berger, Founder and Chairman of the management consultancy, introduced the evening's topic. He was followed by Hesse's state premier Roland Koch. Speeches were then given by Dr. Josef Ackermann, spokesman of the board of Deutsche Bank, and Dr. Wolfgang Reitzle, President and Chief Executive Officer of Linde. The final speech was given by Frankfurt's mayor Petra Roth. The speeches were followed by a panel discussion on doing business in Frankfurt, moderated by Thomas Eichelmann, member of the Executive Committee of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.
The consulting firm has had an office in Frankfurt since 1989, with over 50 staff at present. By the end of the year, the office is set to expand to some 80 employees. Financial services and transportation are the focus of Roland Berger's consulting activities in the city. "One reason for the good growth of our Frankfurt office is the city's excellent business climate," explained Thomas Eichelmann. "For many years, companies here have found excellent conditions for doing international business. The city will no doubt continue to be one of the world's and Europe's key business hubs."
