For the first time, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants is hosting a recruiting workshop exclusively for natural scientists. start.science 2005 is the right place for those who feel they can solve complex business challenges and want to experience project work first hand. Teams of selected participants tackle the management challenge of a major pharmaceutical company: the company wishes to expand in regional markets.

The teams develop a growth strategy for the target market and present their concepts to Roland Berger consultants. Participants can be students, graduates, post-graduates as well as young professionals. The event is to take place on November 25 and 26, 2005, at the Seehotel Niedernberg near Frankfurt. Those interested should submit their application online at www.startscience.rolandberger.com by October 31, 2005.

Natural scientists interested in working for Roland Berger Strategy Consultants should have basic business knowledge. Especially desirable are those participants with practical work experience at international companies. Those able to demonstrate appropriate skills at start.science 2005 have excellent prospects for a career in international strategy consulting.

"We have created start.science because there is a growing need in strategy consulting for top-notch natural scientists with business skills," says Thomas Eichelmann, Member of the Executive Committee at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. "Many of our clients benefit from natural scientists' knowledge and special approaches. Science students have a wide-range of possibilities at Roland Berger."

On the first day of the event, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants' HR department will present the professional opportunities available in international strategy consulting. This will also include a discussion with natural scientists who have already started a successful consulting career. Then the participants will start the project work. They will analyze company and market data, evaluate the facts and develop corresponding plans of action.

On day two, the teams will continue their project work: experienced consultants will offer assistance in developing growth strategies and preparing the final presentations. In the morning the teams will present their solution strategies to Roland Berger consultants. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony and discussions.
