ROLAND BERGER STRATEGY CONSULTANTS has again been awarded family-friendliness prize

Munich, June 30, 2008

Roland Berger Strategy Consultants has been awarded the Hertie Foundation's "Work and Family" certificate for the second time. The international strategy consultancy has successfully passed this year's audit, and thus confirmed its family friendliness. Three years ago, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants was the first strategy consultancy to be awarded the certificate. It obliges the company to implement family-friendly actions. Federal Minister of Family Affairs von der Leyen will award the certificate at a festive ceremony in Berlin on June 30.

"For us, family friendliness is a key factor," says Dirk Reiter, member of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants' global management. "Not only to attract the best talent – but also to offer them a really attractive working environment in the different phases of their lives. Our commitment helps combine work and family, and benefits every individual member of our staff and the company as a whole. "

The award obliges the company to implement further actions based on what it has achieved already. The aim must be to take even better account of its employees' family needs in day-to-day work. Already today, consultants can choose between different part-time arrangements with individually scheduled working hours during parental leave. What's more, Roland Berger provides home office opportunities for its employees and provides the required infrastructure. The company also helps its people find day care or assistance for relatives in need of care.

The Hertie Foundation's "Work and Family" audit is a personnel management tool used throughout Germany. Other reputable companies such as Siemens, MTU, RWE and Deutsche Bank have also applied for the certificate. More than 600 companies and institutions have so far been audited.
