Experience Report

Emma, Strategic Marketing & Operations
I joined Roland Berger in February 2025 after working as a consultant at a firm focused on Brand Change projects. However, after spending some time on the consulting side, I was interested in experiencing the group functions perspective. Coming from the rebranding field, I was naturally intrigued by Roland Berger's Brand Refresh 2023 and the outstanding work our design team did here, and I was eager to learn more about its overall approach to marketing. Joining the Strategic Marketing & Operations team felt like the right place to broaden my perspective and contribute in a new context.
In my current role, I primarily focus on strategic internal projects that shape how we measure, run, and scale our marketing efforts. Day to day, our team builds success-measurement frameworks, streamlines marketing processes, and supports cross-functional initiatives with colleagues from different teams and regions. My responsibilities are broad, ranging from the creation of data-driven reportings to exploring relevant AI use-cases for our marketing activities - no two weeks look the same! What I enjoy most is the blend of strategy and hands-on delivery: designing an approach, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and watching the outcomes unfold. Our team is still fairly new, which gives us a unique chance to shape how we work and approach our projects together. To me, Roland Berger’s culture stands out for its genuine collaboration. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, reliable partnership, and fairly flat hierarchies that invite ideas and ownership. People are encouraged to experiment and trusted to take responsibility early, accelerating both learning and impact. That combination—the freedom to act, the space to shape processes, and the everyday cross-disciplinary collaboration—is what makes working here so rewarding.

Tobias, Campaign Manager
Roland Berger offers abundant opportunities for shaping your career and personal development right from the start, allowing me to grow both professionally and personally at a rapid pace. Since joining in 2014, I have executed various projects in different teams within and across departments,
whether it's introducing new tools or launching our marketing dashboard, which ensures cross-channel measurement of our activities' success. The freedom to implement my own ideas and take responsibility for them is an integral part of my daily work in our marketing and communications team. Within our newsroom concept, I serve as a central point of contact for two departments, acting as a campaign manager and a catalyst for ideas. Together with colleagues, we strive daily to find the best approach for our campaigns, generating both public attention for issues and relevant content to support our sales teams in their daily work. Working in this team is highly diverse, as each topic presents its own challenges. Yet it's also incredibly rewarding when we see what we achieve every day. Shaping things, taking responsibility, contributing your own ideas, and collectively achieving successes as a team – that's what defines Roland Berger for me.
