Why Roland Berger?

I chose Roland Berger so I could work with and be a part of a global community through my work on the automotive team and through my engagement with JustBe, the LGBTQ+ community. The whole Roland Berger community is built on the mentality that we win as a team, so I have appreciated the network I’ve been able to develop across countries and platforms as colleagues and friends.

What does “Be the Original You” mean to you?

It means I can spend my energy in the ways I want to at work. I sought out this role to spend more time thinking about big picture problems in automotive operations, not to second guess what I wear every day or filter who I am to be what I think a consultant should be – I already am one.

If you could instantly master any new skill, what would it be and why?

I would love to master drawing or pottery. I like getting my hands dirty and seeing the finished product of my work.

What has been your favorite project so far and why?

A project we did with a UK automotive company was by far my favorite from a content perspective because it perfectly aligned with my interests at the time, and from a personal perspective, I was able to connect with colleagues from offices in four different countries. I’ve still kept in touch with most of the team three years later.

What advice would you give to someone considering joining Roland Berger?

Meet everyone you can and find your niche. Consulting is like a choose-your-own-adventure book, and several practices have grown from two people meeting at Roland Berger and deciding to build on their shared interests in planes, sustainability, or batteries.

What’s the most unexpected place your work at Roland Berger has taken you?

I’ve traveled to a half dozen countries with Roland Berger, but the most unexpected destination was the middle of Indiana in the US - especially right after completing a project in Paris.

What’s the most memorable team event or social activity you’ve attended at Roland Berger?

My favorite team event was with the automotive team driving Range Rovers on the vehicle test course for an afternoon. We rotated drivers and tested the entire product line launched that year.
