What fuels my greatest enthusiasm for this role as a Project Manager at Roland Berger is the unique blend of strategic leadership and hands-on problem solving it demands – we’re not just managing tasks but steering the entire project journey, much like a captain at the helm of a ship. A captain doesn’t just give directions; they unify the crew, assess ever-changing conditions, and leverage every available resource to reach the destination, and that’s exactly what this role entails.
What has been your favorite project so far and why?
Every project is unique, and each leaves a memorable mark in its own right. The one that stands out most in my professional experience is when we supported a world-leading automotive supplier in rolling out a holistic cost reduction and efficiency enhancement initiative. I led a 12-strong cross-regional team with both Chinese and German colleagues, working onsite at the client’s location full-time for eight months, and we ultimately delivered millions in measurable cost savings for them.

My work at Roland Berger has led me to some truly unanticipated places: I once developed tourism industry strategies by the sandy shores of Sanya, one of China’s southernmost cities; I also accompanied a client down to China’s largest underground gold mine, descending hundreds of meters into the earth’s depths.
