Ashok Kaul is a Partner at Roland Berger Digital. He is responsible for increasing the company’s impact regarding quantitative methods in strategy consulting such as statistics, machine learning, and computational economics. Furthermore, he is an expert in data science, big data, regulatory impact assessments, and microsimulation models.
Ashok started his academic career in Germany, completing a master‘s degree in economics at the University of Constance and a PhD, also in economics, from the University of Bonn. He has held faculty positions at prestigious academic institutions across Europe, including Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain), Gutenberg University Mainz (Germany), University of Oslo (Norway), and the University of Zurich (Switzerland). Since 2009, Ashok has been a Full Professor of Economics at Saarland University (Germany). He founded the IPE Institute for Policy Evaluation in 2012, a specialized data science consultancy that he has managed since then.
