Christian Mandl

Dr. Christian Mandl is a Principal at Roland Berger’s Munich office and a member of the leadership team for Procurement and Supply Chain Management within the Operations platform. He is also a founding member of the firm’s AI in Operations competence center.

Christian is an expert in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics for data-driven optimization in procurement and supply chain management, with a focus on raw materials and energy purchasing, inventory management, and supply network design. He has led numerous AI-driven procurement and supply chain projects across industries including automotive, chemicals, consumer goods, and shipping.

Prior to joining Roland Berger, he worked in top-tier management consulting and in academia as a professor of digital procurement and supply chain analytics. He is the author of multiple publications, including a Springer textbook on Procurement Analytics. Christian holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Technical University of Munich and is a visiting scholar at Cornell University.
