Alexander joined Roland Berger 10 years ago after completing his studies in chemistry. Over the last decade, Alex has focused on strategy and M&A topics in the chemicals and materials industry. Working for both producers and financial investors, he has helped clients to evaluate investment decisions, develop winning strategies, and reshape their portfolios.
His experience spans the full breadth of the chemical value chain: from upstream commodities to downstream specialties and formulations. Alex has a particular focus on value chain economics: analyzing at which steps in the chain value is created and captured during different points in commodity cycles. Alex also spends his time working on sustainability topics across the chemicals industry: from advanced biomaterials aimed at curbing plastic waste problems to green hydrogen and ammonia as a path to decarbonizing industry and transportation.
