Wataru is a partner of Roland Berger's Tokyo office and a certified public accountant.
His primary focus is on consumer goods and retail industries, such as food & beverage, consumer electronics, cosmetics, apparel, restaurants, and hotels. He has helped many clients solve their post-merger integration, performance improvement, business turnaround, and organizational reform problems.
Now and then, he emerges from behind the scenes as an interim manager, stepping up to reconcile the interests of shareholders, employees, business partners, and more, providing additional support to generate concrete results.
Wataru has recently been spending more time on company-wide organizational reforms to make digital transformation work. After working for a general trading company, he was part of Roland Berger from 2004 to 2008. He later became part of a regeneration consulting firm and rejoined Roland Berger in 2021. Wataru holds a BA from the University of Tokyo.
